Rueter-Hess Reservoir

Rueter-Hess Reservoir helps lessen the use of non-renewable Denver Basin Aquifers by collecting and storing renewable water when it becomes available.

Reliable water Storage

The Rueter-Hess Reservoir in Parker, completed in 2012, was a collaboration among four South Metro Water members, including Parker, Castle Rock, Castle Pines North and Stonegate Village District.

Rueter-Hess Reservoir brings reliable water storage to the region and is larger in land size than Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Rueter-Hess enables Parker and other South Metro members to capture and reuse water, lessening dependence on nonrenewable groundwater. It also provides an important opportunity to blend different water supplies to ensure the best water quality possible for South Metro communities.
